I just love love this blanket.
I’m sure I’ve said it before – but I named the blanket Sarafia cause I was inspired from Sara and Sofia when I made it.

I wanna share it with you and hope that you will love it as much as I do.
Square:
Start with color A.

(Note: you will always be starting each round with the last dc of the round)
Rnd 2: Join in the last ch space of last rnd. Ch 5 (counts as 1 dc, ch 2), *in next ch space do 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, 2 ch* repeat this two more times. In the last ch sp do 3 dc, ch 3, 2 dc, join with sl st in 3rd ch.
Rnd 3: Ch 5 (counts as 1 dc, ch 2), *1 dc in each dc of prev rnd (total 3 dc), in the corner you do 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc, 1 dc in each dc of prev round, ch 2* repeat from * to * till the end of the rnd, join with sl st in 3rd ch.
Rnd 4: Ch 5 (counts as 1 dc, ch 2), *1 dc in each dc of prev rnd (total 5 dc), in the corner you do 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc, 1 dc in each dc of prev round, ch 2* repeat from * to * till the end of the rnd, join with sl st in 3rd ch.
Rnd 5: Ch 5 (counts as 1 dc, ch 2), *1 dc in each dc of prev rnd (total 7 dc), in the corner you do 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc, 1 dc in each dc of prev round, ch 2* repeat from * to * till the end of the rnd, join with sl st in 3rd ch.
Break off and go back to color A.
Rnd 6: Join where you left off in the prev rnd or in 3rd ch. Ch 5 (counts as 1 dc, ch 2), *1 dc in each dc of prev rnd (total 9 dc), in the corner you do 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc, 1 dc in each dc of prev round, ch 2* repeat from * to * till the end of the rnd, join with sl st in 3rd ch.
Amount:
I have 48 squares in my blanket.
I mainly use 3 colors, there’s one main color that has 24 squares and then the other two have 12 squares each.

Joining:
There are many ways to join squares but there is one I like the most. I think it’s called back loop join – or something like that. You take the squares together with the wrong side (or the back side) turning to you – or right sides together. Then you sl st only the back loops together.
Border:
I always start with one round of sc all the way around the blanket. There’s no one way to that suits it best – I’ve done more than one. Just try what ever you like and see how it turns out.
I have a few borders here on my blog – but their all in Icelandic though.
